Poker Freerolls
Poker freerolls are an exciting way to get involved in poker tournament play without having to spend a penny of your own money. Usually offered as promotions in online casinos, poker freerolls are tournaments in which the entry fee has been waived but winners can still take home real cash and prizes.
While you may find a poker freeroll tournament that is open to everyone there are usually restrictions. Some online poker websites offer freeroll tournaments for new players when they sign up, as incentive to get new players to join the site. Other sites offer freerolls only for players who make cash deposits or for loyal players or VIPs.
When it comes to freeroll tournament strategy, many players are more inclined to go all-in at the beginning of the tournament and risk everything in order to pull ahead. Players figure that since they didn’t have to pay an entry fee then it doesn’t matter if they lose or win, so they play loose and take a lot of risks from the start. The problem when you do this is, however, that you also risk losing your entire stack of tournament chips during the first hand. For this reason, it is best to play tight at the beginning of a freeroll and let all those other players commit chip suicide. As you make it into later rounds you can start to take a few more risks.
