Christian Slater, Dane Cook & Gary Oldman To Star In 2011 Poker Movie

The only thing better than a good poker movie is a good game of poker. So it would be an understatement for me to say that I’m excited to see the new poker movie, set to come out in 2011, starring Christian Slater, Dane Cook and Gary Oldman. Girls, Guns and Gambling sounds like it’s going to either be a hit or really terrible. But sometimes the really terrible poker movies are the most entertaining!

The movie, Girls, Guns and Gambling is being described by the producers as, “Elvis impersonators, Indians, modern cowboys, a 6-foot-tall blond assassin, a frat boy, a corrupt sheriff and a prostitute into a chase for a priceless American Indian artifact stolen during a poker game at an Indian casino.” So I guess we can’t expect as much poker as we’ve seen in some other poker flicks like Rounders. But it does sound like we can expect a lot of action and excitement.

So which celebrities are going to be playing which characters? Dane Cook will be playing a sheriff (whether he is corrupt is yet to be determined as IMDB lists two different sheriffs), Gary Oldman will be playing Elvis, and Christian Slater will be playing John Smith (could this be the frat boy?). In any case, when the move comes out we can all take a break from our online poker escapades and take a couple of hours out to be entertained.
